An electromechanical lock includes a latching assembly (20) adapted to mount to a first structure and a catch piece (90) adapted to mount to a second structure wherein the latching assembly and the catch piece are positionable such that the catch piece can be docked in a receive state in the latching assembly. The latching assembly includes at least one latch element (60) movable between a capture state wherein the catch piece becomes mechanically engaged thereby and a release state wherein the catch piece is disengaged thereby.
