It is intended to provide a method of screening a drug with the use of a disease−associated gene product; an antibody against the disease−associated gene product; and an antisense DNA inhibiting the expression of the disease−associated gene. Namely, a protein having the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1 or a substantially the same amino acid sequence, its peptide fragment or salts thereof; a method of screening a drug with the use of such disease−associated gene product; an antisense polynucleotide to the disease−associated gene; drugs containing the antisense polynucleotide; an antibody against the disease−associated gene product; drugs and diagnostics containing this antibody; a method of screening a compound controlling the activity of the disease−associated gene product; and compounds obtained by this screening method.
