A radiotelephone system comprising a transmitter station (10) and a mobile station (11) provided with means for receiving a signal transmitted by the transmission station and measurement means for measuring the quality of the received signal. The transmitter station (10) has first and second antennas (12 and 13) having different polarisation properties. The transmitter station (10) is arranged to transmit the same signal from each of the antennas (12 and 13).
