PURPOSE: A combination magnetic radial and thrust bearing is provided to simplify a radial and thrust bearing for a rotor and provide a small-sized magnet assembly with a reliability. CONSTITUTION: The combination radial and thrust bearing comprises: a rotor(14); a stator(36) for rotating the motor; first and second axially spaced combination bodies(40a,40b) including permanent magnets(42,44,48,50) disposed on each of the rotor and the stator and polarized for floating the rotor and further including voltage-applicable coils for adjusting the magnetic flux between the rotor and stator magnets(42,44,48,50); and an electric circuit for regulating electric energy with respect to the coils for axially stabilizing the rotor. The rotor magnets(42,44) are offset in the opposite direction of the axial direction of the stator magnets(48,50).
