PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map data displaying system wherein capacity of a storage device necessary for a terminal can be reduced. SOLUTION: In this map data displaying system, a communication satellite 10 wherein a service providing area to a receiving terminal 30 is included in an available area of distribution is used, and center equipment 20 is installed which is provided with data accumulating equipment 21 for accumulating a large amount of map data which are related with different geographical position information, and transmitting equipment 22 which transmits repeatedly all of the map data accumulated in the data accumulating equipment 21 to the communication satellite 10. In the receiving terminal 30, a receiving device 33 for receiving a radio signal from the communication satellite 10, and a storage device 34 which stores map data corresponding to at least self position information out of received map data, as map data to be displayed on a display device 32 are installed, so that it is unnecessary that a large amount of the map data are accumulated in the receiving terminal side. |
