PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily separate spent nuclear fuel from a spent nuclear fuel pipe. SOLUTION: This shearing method for the spent nuclear fuel pipe including P of 0.008 wt.% or more shears the spent nuclear fuel pipe after performing, at least, two-step cleaning within a temperature range not more than 600 deg.C and not less than 300 deg.C in prior to the shearing.
