PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid that the display of printing completion of when print data with a password are received and processed is unwantedly displayed in the middle of printing the preceding job. SOLUTION: A printer receives print data from a host device until an end code is detected and spools the print data as one job. Next, the printer checks whether or not the print data are print data with a password, and performs printing in the case of print data without a password. In the case of the print data with a password, the print data are not printed but are processed and stored, it is sequentially decided whether or not there is a job that is currently being printed in print data received before the print data with a password in a step S11A, and in the case the job that is currently being printed exists, the printer waits until the job is finished, that is, until the printing completion of the job is detected. At the point of time of detecting the printing completion of the preceding job, the host device is notified of the printing completion of the print data with a password to be displayed in a step S12. |
