PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective and simple cut-off structure of an opening and closing type roof composed of a variable-shape truss frame. SOLUTION: The opening and closing type roof 1 comprises a plurality of opening and closing roof elements 2 which include an opening and closing driving arm 4, composed of the variable-shape truss frame, and a roof panel 7 fixed to each fixed truss of the arm 4. The two roof panels 7 adjacent to each other in the same element 2 are constituted in such a manner that the upstream- side panel overlaps the downstream-side panel from outside in terms of a flow of rainwater; the roof panels 7 of the adjacent element 2 also overlap each other at a connecting part at which the upstream-side panel overlaps the downstream-side panel; and cut-off members 22 are interposed among overlapped parts. Notches are provided at corner parts of two, which are located in an intermediate layer, of the four roof panels 7 adjacent to one another, so as to prevent mutual interference.
