PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light deflector in which an air flow generated by the rotation of a rotating body in the vicinity of the rotating body is straightened to prevent turbulence, as a result, windage is suppressed to decrease the power consumption of a motor, fluctuation in the speed of revolution of the motor is to decrease the scanning jitter of a laser beam and further the noise level due to the wind whistle around a mirror is decreased. SOLUTION: The light deflector which deflects the laser beam by rotating a rotating polygon mirror fixed on the rotating body 3 is characterized by the fact that straightening members 19 and 20 which straighten the air flow generated by the rotation of the rotating body 3 are arranged around the rotating body 3.
