PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating material which can form a hydrophilic coating film which is resistant to crazing when cut and has a high durability. SOLUTION: This coating material comprises polyethylene glycol and a compound having an amino group and an alkoxysilane residue. The contact angle, with water, of the surface of coating film formed from the coating material is 10 deg. or lower.
