PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment sensitizing photoelectric conversion element using a substantially nonvolatile electrolytic composition and showing excellent stability for preservation and excellent conversion efficiency, and a photocell formed of the photoelectric conversion element. SOLUTION: The photoelectric conversion element having a charge transportation layer containing a salt represented by the general formula (I) and the photocell consisting of the element are disclosed. In the general formula (I), R1 and R2 each independently represent an alkyl group, an aryl group or an alkoxy group and may have a substituent; W1 represents C(=O), S(=O), S(=O)2 , P(=O), a triazolyl group or a tetrazolyl group, with the proviso that when W1 represents C(=O), S(=O) or S(=O)2 , n1 is 1; when W1 represents P(=O), n1 is 2; and when W1 represents a triazolyl group or a tetrazolyl group, n1 is 0 or 1; W2 represents C(=O), S(=O), P(=O), a triazolyl group or a tetrazolyl group, with the proviso that when W2 represents C(=O) or S(=O), n2 is 1; when W2 represents P(=O), n2 is 2; and when W2 represents a triazolyl group or a tetrazolyl group, n2 is 0 or 1; and Q<+> is an organic cation. |
