PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake device for rolling stock which can determine an actual service life and the degree of aged deterioration of an electropneumatic conversion relay valve for every valve and can automatically provide a notice of a start time of maintenance work of the relay valve and the like to a user. SOLUTION: Pneumatic pressure output from the electropneumatic conversion relay valve 2 into a brake cylinder BC is detected by a pressure sensor 3, and the detected pressure is recorded as a reference value Pn (t) in a recording part 12. A diagnosis part 13 uses the reference value Pn1 (t) recorded in the recording part 12 to set an excellent pressure range for diagnosing the electropneumatic conversion relay valve 2, and when detecting that the detected pressure from the pressure sensor 3 has deviated from the excellent pressure range continuously for a specified time, the diagnosis part 13 outputs a maintenance signal for directing to start the maintenance work for the electropneumatic conversion relay valve 2 or a failure signal for notifying the occurrence of a failure in the electropneumatic conversion relay valve 2.
