PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate management of media when the volume of transaction data increased. SOLUTION: The medium handler comprises a section for making a print on continuous media according to printing data, a section 26 for cutting the media at a predetermined position to form a publication media, means for making a decision whether a residual piece resulting from cutting has a carriable length or not, and means for setting a next cutting position based on the decision results. Since the media are cut at a cutting position set in correspondence with the printing data, media formed while differentiating the pitch of a timing mark for each kind of transaction having a different volume of transaction data is eliminated.
