PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recording apparatus capable of efficiently collecting an ink remaining in a recovery mechanism to a pump mechanism and preventing leakage of an ink so as to prevent pollution of the apparatus even in the case an upper unit should be opened due to paper jamming process, or the like, and a recovery method for an ink-jet recording apparatus. SOLUTION: An opening/closure detecting means for detecting opening/closure of an upper unit 1 is provided so that a pump mechanism 7 is operated in the case the opening/closure detecting means detects opening of the upper unit 1. |
