PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To support as CCPD service in a CDMA 2000 random access network at a low cost, without using traffic channels. SOLUTION: A CCPD mobile machine (MS) 202 transmits a calling message where SDB- DESIRED- ONLY bit is set to 1 and FCH-SUPPORTED bit and DCCH- SUPPORTED bit is set to 0 to a base system (BS) 104 for requesting a CCPD service from the network. When a normal device authentication is completed, a short data burst(SDB) is used for establishing PPP connection, MIP registration is executed on a common channel, and messages are exchanged. A first SDB transmitted from an BS 104 to an MS 202 verifies the CCPD service request of the MS 202. When a BS 104 cannot support the CCPS service request, no SDBs are transmitted and calling trial results in failure. |
