PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device with which a header is stably detected, an address is stably recognized and the address is reliably shared by a land and a groove for an optical disk on which land/groove recording is performed. SOLUTION: The optical disk device performs recording and reproduction by making use of the optical disk on which a prepit regions including address information which are formed at the boundary region of the land region and the groove region are arranged art every two boundary parts. There are provided a means 20 which preliminarily outputs a discriminator 1 for deciding whether a land region or a groove region as a recording track, a track region detection means 23 which outputs a discriminator 2 which detects the signal for deciding whether the recording track is the land region or the groove region, an address information extraction means 24 which extracts the address information from the prepit region, and a means 25 which calculates the address when the discriminator 1, the discriminator 2 and the address information are inputted.
