FLOURESCENT CHARACTER DISPLAY TUBE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce EMI radiation noises emitted from the surface of a fluorescent character display tube and to enhance ESD noise resistance. SOLUTION: A thin film 21 of metal is formed monochromatically on the back 3a of a base 3 which constitutes a portion of an envelope 2. A conducting member 22 is provided on the back 24a of a grounded front case 24 covering the fluorescent character display tube 1 and the thin film 21 is pressed into contact with a portion (tip) of the conducting member 22. Thus, the thin film 21 is grounded through a GND connection to reduce noises coming from the surface of the fluorescent character display tube.
