The slider consists of a circular dome (1) of a compact and smooth synthetic material with one face (10) designed to make contact with the floor and another (11) attached, especially by adhesive, to a circular cap (2) of an elastomer material. The elastomer material extends above the edge of the dome to form an annular collar (4) which fits over the end of a chair leg and holds it in place. The elastomer cap is of variable thickness, being thinner on a level with the edge (12) of the dome and tapering towards its open end.
