PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing system allowing users resident within a prescribed distance range to securely and efficiently exchange information. SOLUTION: The system acquires distance information between mobile phones 5 on the basis of position information of the mobile phones 5 obtained from a control station 3 and conducts generating processing of trigger information used for a trigger of retrieval of a database (S13). On the occurrence of the trigger information (S14; YES), the system retrieves the database to decide an opposite party for exchanging personal information and a kind of object personal information on the basis of transmission reception control information (S15). The system transmits an extracted information amount to a user as an estimated reception information amount, receives reception propriety information from the mobile phones 5 (S17), and when the transmission is available (S18: YES), the system transmits the extracted personal information to a user (S19).
