PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitor which can detect movement normally in a monitor in which a monitor camera is turned with an electrically operated rotary bead. SOLUTION: The monitor is provided with an image pickup means, the electrically operated rotary bead for rotating the image pickup means in a horizontal and/or a perpendicular directions, and an electrically operated rotary bead control means which controls the electrically operated bead intermittently every preset time in such a manner that the bead is moved following a moving path which is previously determined. The monitor is also provided with a means which judges whether the bead is still or moving before movement judgement is performed by a movement judging means, and a means which prohibits movement judgement by the movement judging means when it is judged that the bead is in the course of movement.
