PURPOSE: A gear case of a traction motor is provided to prevent the cracking and breakage due to excessive vibration of a traction motor by attaching reinforcing members to the front and rear faces of a case and installing a urethane seal in the shaft hole on the rear face of a gear case. CONSTITUTION: A gear case of a traction motor comprises an upper case(100) having a first and a second semi-circular paddings(102,104) placed on the central straight line and a reinforcing member(110) placed on the front face and a lower case(200) having a first and a second semi-circular paddings(202,204), an oil filler cap(215), and a reinforcing member(210). The outer faces of the upper and lower cases are corrugated in a specific angle. Bolts(106a,106b) and nuts(206a,206b) formed on both faces of the upper and lower cases are combined by connecting pieces(108a,108b,208a,208b). A urethane seal(300) is attached to a shaft hole(213) in the rear face of the upper and lower cases. |
