FIELD: printing arts, applicable in production of securities for production of multicolored background image with a graphic pattern, as well as in production of other printed matter protected against forgery. SUBSTANCE: the method consists in development of the original, photomechanical processes of production of printing plates, successive application on the surface of printed-in material of thin interwoven lines of various colors. Two similar positives of the background grid are mounted by means of pins with a line shift relative to each other by 0.2 to 0.3 mm at a thickness of the lines within 40 to 70 micrometers, negatives with pin holes are obtained from each positive, at the same time positives and negatives of masks divided into two separate elements of the graphic pattern are produced, then the negative of the first background grid with the positive of the mask of the second element of the graphic pattern is brought into coincidence on the pins and copied on a phototechnical film, after that they are removed and without development the negative of the mask of the first element of the graphic pattern brought into coincidence with the negative of the second background grid is copied on the same film, and one of the photoplates is obtained; in production of the second photoplate the negative of the second background grid with the positive of the mask of the first element of the graphic pattern is copied on the phototechnical film, and then the negative of the mask of the second element of the graphic pattern with the negative of the first background grid.
