PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of performing display having higher quality by suppressing the display in homogeneity of a liquid crystal panel without using temperature sensors and to provide its signal driving method. SOLUTION: In this display device, the exothermic pattern table of a liquid crystal panel 10 and the characteristic function (or table) of the voltage versus the optical characteristics of liquid crystal are preliminarily stored in a ROM(read-only memory) 6. When processing is started, a processing content judging part 5 judges the contents of the processing from a task being executed. A CPU(central processing unit) 2 calculates calorific values at respective pixel positions by checking up the judged contents of the processing with the exothermic pattern table. Then a picture correcting part 7 calculates the correction values of the applied voltages of the respective pixel positions by checking up the calorific values at the respective pixel positions with the characteristic function of the voltage versus the optical characteristics of the liquid crystal and voltages of the respective pixels are corrected.
