A coupling assembly for a non-ferrous tube or pipe, said assembly including a coupling member and a flange member, said coupling member being integrally formed by spinning, drawing and/or pressing from copper material and having a sleeve portion upon which a socket (20) of a fitting (18) can be mounted, an annular flange (22) portion which is located in a plane transverse to the sleeve portion, said annular flange having first and second annular faces and an outer peripheral edge; and wherein the flange member comprises an annular flange member of ferrous material and having a bore through which the sleeve portion of the coupling member can pass and bolt holes (24) passing there through said coupling assembly being such that when the sleeve portion of the coupling member is inserted through the bore of the flange member the first annular face of the flange portion engages one face of the flange member, the outer peripheral edge of the flange portion is located radially inwardly of said bolt holes , and the second annular face is presented for engagement with a gasket.
