A Pharmaceutical composition for use in treating a condition requiring regulation of nicotine metabolism to cotinine comprising an effective amount of a substance which selectively inhibits human cytochrome P450 2A6, an effective amount of an inhibitor of human cytochrome P450 2B6, optionally with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, diluent, or excipient, and wherein said composition exhibits a synergistic effect in the regulation of nicotine metabolism to cotinine.
