PURPOSE: A telematics system using telephone number information and a method therefor are provided to offer information about a motion path from the position of a caller to the position of a callee and information about a position in which a telephone of the callee is located using telephone numbers of the caller and the callee. CONSTITUTION: An information providing server(214) connects to wired telephone networks(202,204,205) and mobile phone networks(2-3,206) and provides information of a corresponding telephone when one telephone requests information about the corresponding telephone among a plurality of wired telephones(200,208) or mobile phones(201,207). An ARS(Automatic Response Service) system(209) connects to the information providing server(214) for selecting information requested from the one telephone and outputting the result. A telephone information DB(211) connects to the information providing server(214) for providing position information about a telephone number of a telephone. A geographic information DB(213) connects to the information providing server(214) for providing geographic information. A traffic information DB(212) connects to the information providing server(214) for providing traffic information. A voice synthesizing system(210) converts information provided from the geographic information DB(213) and the traffic information DB(212) into a voice signal. |
