PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disc drive whose circuit scale and cost are reduced and whose versatility is improved. SOLUTION: This disc drive drives an attached disc by a spindle motor, in order to reproduce signals recorded in the disc. This disc drive has an edge detection unit 31, which generates an edge detection signal XEG indicating the timing of phase switching corresponding to a plurality of signals CU, CV, and CW, which are induced when the spindle motor is driven and a VS control unit 49, which controls a maximum value of a drive voltage VS driving the spindle motor, according to the edge detection signal XEG. |
