PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer device and a diagnosis method which improve the reliability even at the time of repair, replacement, and extension of hardware and can perform non-stop operation. SOLUTION: The computer device has a main OS 8 and a sub-OS 9 mounted on and allows a peripheral device 6 and an I/O card 7 to be repaired, replaced, and extended in the power-on state. Repaired, replaced, or extended hardware is disconnected from the main OS 8, and the operation of repaired, replaced, or extended hardware is confirmed by a test and maintenance program 10 of the sub-OS 9 while the main OS 8 executes normal processing, and thereafter, the control of hardware is transferred to the main OS 8. |
