The transfer pump comprises hydraulic pistons activated by a cam. Each chamber (8) receiving oil under high pressure is provided with a non-return valve (11) discharging into a common manifold (12). The manifold is connected to an inlet chamber (10) of an electrical valve (15) whose outlet chamber (16) is connected to the low pressure reserve. The electrical valve regulates the quantity of high pressure liquid which is returned to the low pressure and thus the quantity of high pressure liquid which acts on the membranes (17).
