The present invention is directed to methods and compositions for diagnosing, treating and preventing smooth muscle cell proliferation and hyperplasia, including vascular occlusive conditions. Such conditions include, but are not limited to, thrombosis, atherosclerosis and restenosis after angioplasty. Preferred embodiments comprise methods and compositions that effect HSPGs associated with smooth muscle cell proliferation and more preferably, effect perlecan. |
