The sensor has a bearing surface (1) for detection of a fingerprint image and an associated control circuit, with conductor paths (2) incorporated in the bearing surface providing electrostatic discharge protection by diversion of a received electrostatic charge and used for impedance measurement in association with a measuring circuit.
