The inventive method is carried out by means of automatic diagnostic apparatus, in which a diagnosis corresponding to the normal condition of the patient is saved. Said diagnosis is compared with a subsequent diagnosis that is performed by the patient. Based on this comparison, the apparatus then delivers advice as to how to proceed.
