PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply device that has larger capacity than a conventional power supply means and can supply power from an alternating current power source as a power supply means to an elevating machine of a monorail type ceiling running device. SOLUTION: This monorail type ceiling running device has a running carrier 1 running along a running rail 2 and the elevating machine 8 sagged from the running carrier 1 vertically movably. A current collecting part 14 is downwardly disposed on the lower surface of the running carrier 1, a current collecting part 15 is upwardly disposed on the upper surface of the elevating machine, and both current collecting parts contact each other at the upper limit stopping position of the elevating machine 8.
