PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle in which a blow direction is automatically controlled to realize blow direction control to the liking of an occupant. SOLUTION: This air conditioner for a vehicle is provided with blowers 23 and 24 to blow air conditioned air, a blow direction adjusting means 10 installed at a part to blow air conditioned air into a cabin to adjust the blow direction of the air conditioned air, and a control means 31 to memorize blow direction control characteristics to determine the blow direction of air conditioned air based on environmental conditions related to air conditioning in the cabin, and automatically control the blow direction adjusting means 10 in accordance with result determined based on the blow direction control characteristics. When the blow direction of air conditioned air is changed by manual operation, the blow direction control characteristics are changed in accordance with the blow direction of air conditioned air changed by manual operation, and environmental conditions when they are manually operated. The liking of the occupant is thus learned, and blow direction control can be automatically conducted thereafter to the liking of the occupant in accordance with the environmental conditions without requiring manual operation.
