PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high speed image recorder for continuous form printing for a toner image and an ink image on a sheet by one pass in which shift or skew of printing position incident to high speed sheet carriage is eliminated and scattering of ink is prevented at the time of fixing of toner by means of a heat roll fixing unit. SOLUTION: Image data being printed by electrophotography and start of writing position data of a document image out of document image data generated by an information processor 1 is stored in a signal storage device 2, and image data being printed by ink jet is stored in a signal storage device 3. A toner imaging means forms a toner image 23 indicative of a start of writing position and a toner image 24 onto a sheet. A toner mark sensor 16 detects the toner image 23 and delivers a detection signal to a head control circuit 17, thus determining the operational timing of the drive circuits 15a, 15b and 15c of the ink jet head. |
