<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable displacement compressor usable with a solenoid control valve requiring no great solenoid force. SOLUTION: The variable displacement compressor wherein discharge pressure Pd is introduced into an air tight crank room 1 and discharge capacity can be varied by controlling the introduced pressure comprises an orifice 10 provided on the suction side refrigerant passage 9 passing to a suction chamber, the capacity control valve 12 provided in a refrigerant passage 11 passing from a discharge chamber to the crank room 1, and an orifice 14 provided in a refrigerant passage 13 passing from the crank room 1 to the suction chamber the capacity control valve 12 being adapted to sense a differential pressure produced before or behind the orifice 10 and control pressure to be introduced to the crank room 1. Since the capacity control valve 12 controls pressure Pc in the crank room 1 to make the differential pressure before or behind the orifice 10 constant, a flow rate Qd of a refrigerant to be discharged is made constant. The differential pressure can be controlled with slight solenoid force, resulting in miniaturization.</p> |
