PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and an imaging method in which halftone density is settled regardless of the writing timing of a scanning line even when a multibeam is employed. SOLUTION: A decision is made whether a part being exposed simultaneously by adjacent laser beams is present or not (refer to S41) and if it is present, a decision is made whether a part adjacent to that exposing part and is not exposed by a laser beam is present or not (S43). If it is present, a microdot is exposed additionally at the part not exposed by a laser beam (S44).
