PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the components of a propelling device for a small-sized ship, including an internal combustion engine and a supporting bracket for supporting the internal combustion engine on the bottom of a hull to be ar ranged in a compact form in an internal space of the hull. SOLUTION: The propelling device 9 for the ship 1 comprises the internal combustion engine 12 housed in the internal space 10 of the hull 3 and supported on the bottom of the hull 3 and jetting means 14 supported at the rear part of the hull 3 for jetting a water 2 to the rear side of the hull 3 with driving force given from the internal combustion engine 12. The internal combustion engine 12 has a crank case 19 for pivotally mounting a crankshaft 18 around its axial center 17 and an oil pan 21 supported by the crank case 19 in the state of closing an opening at the lower end of the crank case 19 at its lower side. The supporting bracket 38 is mounted on the oil pan 21 and the internal combustion engine 12 is supported on the bottom of the hull 3 by the supporting bracket 38.
