PURPOSE: A method for displaying a network connection state in a mobile communication terminal is provided to determine whether a user performs a telephone call by displaying an address book together the network connection about a telephone number list of an object terminal. CONSTITUTION: If a user pushes a menu of a terminal and selects an address book function(S11), the terminal requests the acknowledgement of connection state about an address book list to a base station system through a packet channel(S12). The base station system receives the request of state information about the address book list from the terminal, confirms a state about the requested lists, and transmits the result to the terminal(S13). The terminal receives state information and displays received acknowledgement information to a user(S14) so that the user confirms the state of a desired object and performs a telephone call in only a call possible state.
