摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient method for manufacturing a polybutylene terephthalate resin excellent in reactivity and little in the amount of a byproduced tetrahydrofuran. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing a polybutylene terephthalate is carried out by using a slurry comprising 1 mol of a dicarboxylic acid component mainly composed of terephthalic acid and a diol component mainly composed of 1,4-butene diol in an amount of >=1.6 mol. The slurry has a viscosity of <=22 mPa.s determined under conditions in which a share rate (γ) shown in the equation (1) is in a range of 9-20 in a temperature range of 40-60 deg.C.γ=2πN/60×1/θ...(1) [wherein,γis a share rate (1/sec); N is a revolution (rpm);πis the ratio of circumference of a circle to its diameter;θis an angle between the conical rotor surface and the plate (radian)]. Further, the average particle diameter of the dicarboxylic acid used is <=100μm.
