PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strain detector capable of exactly detecting strain at low cost. SOLUTION: A strain detection system consists of a strain detector consisting of a hologram sheet 1 and a detector 2, and a terminal station 14. The detector 2 contains a luminescence means 4, an imaging means 3, a signal processing means 6, and a communication means 8 transmitting digital data processed with the signal processing means 6 from the image signal obtained by photographing the hologram sheet 1 with the imaging means 3 as reference digital data before or during placing the hologram sheet 1 at a strain detection objective location, and transmitting the digital data after placing the sheet. The terminal station 14 comprises a communication means 16, a recording means 18 recording the reference digital data received with the communication means 16, a judging means 17 judging whether or not the digital data agree with the reference digital data after placing, and a display means 19 indicating the existence of strain according to the results judged by the judging means 17.
