PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pigment for a cosmetic, capable of providing very high oil absorption and soft feeling when being formulated with a makeup cosmetic, e.g. a foundation, an eye shadow and a rouge, and having characteristics of the reflection of light being soft, and further to provide the cosmetic containing the pigment for the cosmetic. SOLUTION: The cosmetic containing the surface-covered pigment for the cosmetic is prepared by formulating the surface-covered pigment for the cosmetic obtained by surface-covering a pigment powder for the cosmetic with 0.1-30 wt.% linear alkyl acrylate copolymer.
