<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a germicide for a food containing calcium oxide as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: The degerming agent for a food contains calcium oxide and a binder. The agent can be obtained by baking, at >=1200 deg.C, a mixture consisting of calcium carbonate or calcium hydroxide, and a binder selected from a group consisting of TiO2 , Fe2 O3 , FeO, CuO, ZnO, MgO and La2 O3 , and their mixture in an amount of 1-15 wt.% based on the calcium carbonate or calcium hydroxide in terms of calcium oxide. The degermination of a food can be performed by immersing the degerming agent together with the food in water.</p> |
