PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform washing, rinsing and dewatering in the same tub without damaging wash, to simplify the constitution and to reduce the number of parts to lower a cost in a washing machine capable of washing, draining and dewatering in the same tub. SOLUTION: A stirring blade 23 is rotatably provided at the bottom of an inner tub 18 which is substantially a closed-end cylinder and has a number of small holes 19 in the peripheral wall, and the inner tub 18 is contained by a closed-end cylindrical outer tub 20 water-sealed by a buffer member 40. A brake wheel 28 is connected to one end of washing shaft 24, the other end of which is connected to the stirring blade 23. One end of a dewatering shaft 25 incorporating the washing shaft on the same axis is connected to the lower surface of the bottom of the inner tub 18, and the other end thereof abuts on the brake wheel 28. The lower end of the dewatering shaft 25 and the outer peripheral part of the brake wheel 28 are provided with a spring clutch 34 having a transmission releasing function. A motor 30 connected to the brake wheel 28 is elastically supported from below.
