PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transgenic animal which contains a controlling phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase p85 subunit of dominant negative mutant form. SOLUTION: A nonhuman mammal which has been genetically modified so that a body fat composition is changed. The animal contains an exogenous modification p85 P13-K gene whose expression is promoted by an insulin responsive cell-specific promotor. Further, a transgenic cell system containing the mutant gene, and methods for using the animal and/or the cell.
