HEADER FOR LITHIUM THIONYL CHLORIDE BATTERY AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A header for a lithium thionyl chloride(Li/SOCl2) battery and its preparation method are provided, to prevent the cracking of a header due to the heat generated by welding a battery case and an upper plate of a thick head. CONSTITUTION: The header(10) is prepared by arranging a cathode pin(1) in the cylindrical inside of a supporting member(9) and adding an insulation sealing material(3) between the cathode pin and the supporting member; inserting a timber(7) between the flange upper face formed in the lower part of the supporting member assembled with a cathode pin and the under face of the upper plate contact with the flange(8) upper face; setting the assembled header into a carbon-material zig positioned inside of an electrical furnace; injecting an inert gas by the speed of about 20 ml/min into the electrical furnace; increasing the temperature of the furnace by the speed of 10 deg.C/min and heating the insulation sealing material and the timber at 1,000-1,200 deg.C to melt them; and cooling the fused header slowly.
