PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a filter from clogging, by burning PM early, in the exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control comprises: a filter 20 disposed to an exhaust passage 19 of the internal combustion engine 1 and trapping particulate maters contained in exhaust; and an ultrasonic generating means 37 for giving vibrations to the exhaust inside the exhaust passage 19 upstream of the filter 20.
