The foot holder consists of a cap that is hinged and springloaded to a bracket (5) fastened to the surface of a skateboard (2) to go over the toe of the rider's boot (13). The cap has a curved inner surface to fit the boot, and a raised edge (11) that lifts the cap when the boot is pushed against it. The springs are in the form of torsion springs on the hinge axle (6) that urge the cap towards its closed position. The bracket has a number of holes (9) for the spring ends that allow the spring tension to be adjusted.
