PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera with enhanced photographing performance at a low cost by emitting a flashlight in a proper timing even in a high- speed shutter operation. SOLUTION: The electronic camera is provided with a CMOS imaging sensor 30, a flash 14 repeating an emission of a flashlight multiple times according to a light emission timing pulse which repeats multiple times, a photographic lens 11a leading photographic light to the imaging sensor 30 in which the photographic light is composed of external light and reflected light of flashlight emitted by the flash 14, and an MPU 40 generating a light emission timing pulse according to a timing based on a generation timing of an action timing pulse and controlling a timing for emitting flashlight emitted by the flash 14.
