<p>A seal system comprises a non flat cross section, fire resistant compressible ring and an annular pocket formed between two engagting surfaces of a pressure vessel such as a plug valve. The pocket is formed by providing a chamfer in one such surface which is then enclosed by the other such surface. The ring is compressed within the pocket to substantially fill the pocket upon mating of the two surfaces.</p> |
